Contacts app closing when using MacBook Air macOS Tahoe
When creating a new contact or editing an existing contact in the Contact app, the Contact app will close after about 10-20 key strokes.

If you haven't already: Wondering whether updating the MacOS to MacOS 26.0.1 may help:
Reminder: It is always wise to back-up Mac before updating MacOS
Else: If MacOS 26.0.1 is already installed:
You could try quitting Contacts aoo, and restarting your Mac ie: Apple Menu > Restart
See whether or not the problem persists after you sign back into your Mac.
