Re: "FaceTime photos not working after update on iPhone"
Wondering what happens when you try to take a photo and it doesn't "work"
Eg: error message ... don't see the control to press ... press the control and nothing happens ... or ?
Wondering too, which iOS 26 version is currently installed on your iPhone. Eg: iOS 26, iOS 26.0.1, or iOS 26.1 Keeping the iOS updated to the newest version may avoid difficulties.
(Please remember: If you choose to update: It is wise to to back-up iPhone before updating
Else: If your iPhone already has the newest iOS 26 version, and the issue continues:
First try restarting your iPhone : (re-establishes connections, deletes temporary files, may update recent setting changes etc.) as restarting often restores order if something is not working as expected.
Apple support's online article for iOS 26 Take a Live Photo during a FaceTime call on iPhone - Apple Support
Eg: says:
"Note: Make sure FaceTime Live Photos is turned on in Settings > Apps > FaceTime.
- During a video call in the FaceTime app, tap the screen to show the FaceTime controls (if they aren’t visible).
- Do one of the following:
- During a call with one other person: Tap
. - During a Group FaceTime call: Tap the tile of the person you want to take a picture of, then tap
."
Else: If you want to report a suspected "bug" to those who work on the software behind-the-scenes at Apple, you can use their feedback web-form: Feedback - FaceTime - Apple
All the best :-)
