Green Dot Bank: Apple Cash Restriction - no recourse
As with others, I randomly got locked out and they would not tell me why. I filed a complaint which went down the line insisting they tell me why they did it.
This is the pertinent answer to over a month of having the request from the governing body:
"Please visit “Bank’s Right to Suspend or Terminate your Use of the
Services” section of the Apple Cash Terms and Conditions. It explains that we reserve the right to limit,
suspend, or terminate your use of the Services or take other account-level or transaction-level actions,
including suspending or closing your Apple Cash Account, immediately and without prior notice to you for
any reason, other than as required by applicable law. You may also visit www.apple.com/apple-cash for
any additional information. Please note, you will not be able to open any future accounts with our financial
products."
So, they checked, and they verified that their ToS covered "we can for no explanation at all".
I am just very surprised that this is how a company that Apple gives premium business to has such a draconian and arbitrary process.
From my original post some time ago: I broke no part of their ToS/EULA, I changed money with only family members and I had no unkind words at all with Green Dot Bank.
It stinks because my kid is at college and is at his mother's mercy for sending him money.
Very sad way to treat customers, even if you can.
