Can't Add Cards to Apple Watch Wallet

Just updated from iPhone Pro 14 / Apple Watch 7 to iPhone Pro 17 and Apple Watch 11. Having serious problems with Apple Wallet.


I have several cards that are in my Apple Wallet on my iPhone but when I try to add them to the Apple Watch Wallet, I get an error message to contact the bank. Neither Wells Fargo card will add.


I can't get my Capital One Sparks Business card into my iPhone. Wants to verify my Government Issued ID but the iPhone 17 Pro does will not take the photo to upload.


Anyone having similar problems? Any suggestions?

Capital One has started restricting some cards or requiring added steps for verification and anti fraud purposes. Apple is not a part of the verification process. You’ll need to work with Capital One support team to resolve those issues.


The other cards that aren’t adding to Apple Watch, have you talked to their bank’s support teams about the issue? If so, what did they say?


You can try unpairing the devices and then re-pairing them. This has been effective for some users in the past.

I recommend doing a forced restart of each device after they are unpaired.
