Help with iPhone Mirroring App and Assistive Mouse Input Issues

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here can help me troubleshoot an issue I'm having with the iPhone Mirroring app on my Mac. As part of my daily workflow, I rely heavily on this feature because it allows me to access my iPhone without needing to switch Bluetooth channels for my cephalic mouse setup (using a mouth pad and Glassouse Pro assistive devices). This has been a huge time-saver overall.

However, I'm running into some input recognition problems when interacting with the mirrored iPhone interface:

- On the home screen, I can successfully swipe left and right to navigate between pages.

- But when I try to click on an app icon to open it, the app interprets it as a right-click instead of a standard left-click/tap, so the app doesn't launch.

- Additionally, if I manage to get into an app, drag gestures (like scrolling or moving elements) aren't recognized at all.

I've double-checked my mouse settings, but everything seems configured correctly for standard input. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with assistive devices and iPhone Mirroring? Any suggestions on fixes, like adjusting accessibility options, updating software, or alternative workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thank you for your post to the community, and for the video you thoughtfully provided,

Am no expert in this area, so may or mat not help, yet your post to the community deserves some response.

There's a third-party video online that may or may not be helpful in taking control of opening apps:

About: " iPhone Mirroring App: App Switcher Button "

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ibpoMg9PUE

or

Apple support's online article: Control your iPhone from your Mac - Apple Support

Eg: says:

  • "Open the App Switcher: Move your pointer to the top of the iPhone Mirroring screen until the menu bar appears, then click  to open the App Switcher."

Another article: iPhone Mirroring: Use your iPhone from your Mac - Apple Support

also says for the App Switcher: "you can press Command-2 on your keyboard."

You may need to check whether an app is compatible with iPhone mirroring

There may be restrictions with some apps

Sorry I don't know how to make use of your (interesting!) assistive devices:

This is how Apple Support puts it in the linked articles above for interacting with regular screen-mirroring:

"Tap, swipe, and type

Use your Mac mouse or trackpad to click wherever you would tap on your iPhone. Or click and hold wherever you would touch and hold, such as to edit the Home Screen or open a quick actions menu

You can scroll or swipe with your mouse or trackpad, and use your Mac keyboard to type and use keyboard shortcuts. To swipe left or right, you can also press and hold the Shift key while scrolling."
