Change white archery arrows to black?

I have a green screen clip showing arrows hitting a "target". Unfortunately the arrows are white and I want them to appear black or nearly so.

I have tried altering the colour using the Hue versus saturation effect but unfortunately they come out mottled. Any ideas how to get a better effect?

Try to reorder filters, to get keying before negative and use Hue shift to recolour :

Form IA: "In Final Cut Pro, filter order matters because effects are applied from top to bottom in the Inspector, meaning the effect listed first is processed first and the effect at the bottom is applied last, directly changing the image. To change the order, drag and drop effects in the Inspector, with the effect you want to be applied last placed at the bottom of the list."

The matter of the green seems to be easy to work with. Just apply the Keyer before any color changes.

Here is a quick test using the image you posted. I added some background "target" and "scenery",

applied the Keyer effect to remove the green screen, and then added Color Curves, changing the first curve more or less like the last image below. It is far from perfect, but maybe it is enough for your purposes, or can be further tweaked.

No! Never too late.

The Colour Curves seem to have done the trick but I am always open to alternative suggestions. I'm not doing any particular project but just playing around to see what is possible . . . a bit of mental stimulation!

Incidentally once again I have caught on too late. I am now using voice control to do my writing as my normal two finger method is much too slow! I bet the rest of you have been doing it for years?

I never use the color board or curves...

Is the green screen arrows video clip free to download from somewhere? It's one thing to work a still... something entirely different to work the entire animation.

[I've been a "touch typer" for about 50 years. It took about 3-5 days of practice (on a ***manual typewriter***!!!) to get it down and these days, I find the less I think about it, the faster I type — it's manual AND automatic — LOL... My workspace is somewhat noisy and I don't do a whole lotta talkin' anymore, so voice control writing is probably not an option :D...]

@Moderators — this new Reply "system" sucks. Nobody can reply directly to another users comment or question... You know: "in response to so-and-so"...??

@Ian:

I could not download your video from youtube (older OS, out of date software and they constantly seek to obstruct the ability to download video clips from their site)... but it doesn't look like it would be significantly different than the still. Also, if you can manage with the Color Board or AI you're probably better off. My methods are my own and the templates are currently undergoing upgrades... which are experimental at this point.

Thanks for the compliment about the flame effect — another new one under development but still with an undetermined future...

Fox: I don't know what you mean by "this new reply system".

For me, everything appears the same. Each post still says "in response to (someone)".

The only - very silly! - change happened a while ago, when they decided that posts should not be sorted chronologically by default, but by "Rank".

But I quickly found that in my profile I could change my preference to Oldest, so now I only have to be logged in to see things in a meaningful order again.

Maybe it's the fault of the browser. I'm still in OS 10.14.8 and running Firefox (Mozilla's "extended support release" browser) which had an update yesterday. The only Reply button I have available is located under the "banner" area of the page. To reply to you directly right now, I've had to "mouse around" under the blank space of your post and wait to see the cursor change from an arrow to a "finger". The buttons are there, I suppose, but I cannot see them. I don't know for sure if it's the browser or the site. Yesterday there was a period when Apple was updating ASC and the browser was updated. Go figure. On the upside, I am receiving email notifications of responses!

... and so it goes. Progress always leaves some people behind...

Changing a few words/new prompt

A medieval tournament scene in a cinematic style, aspect ratio 21:9. The background features a slightly blurred crowd, indicating depth of field. It's raining heavily, with everything covered in mud. An archer stands prominently in the foreground, showing dirt on his face. The color scheme resembles that of Game of Thrones. The archer skillfully shoots an arrow that splits another arrow already embedded in the target.

Aside, the AI misses a few advices (aspect ratio), this guy looks more… archer.

Sorry for ignoring your green-screen, Ian, but it's more fun to play the BigGunProducer...
