macOS Tahoe massive problems with Ethernet speed

Hi,

with the switch to macOS Tahoe on my MacMini M2 Pro I reached an Ethernet speed with 50Mb/s (it should be 950 Mb/s). A clean install of Tahoe had no effect. And I don't use any firewalls or other possible network software during my analysis.

The fallback to macOS Sequoia shows my full internet speed again. By the way I used the networkquality tool by Apple within the Terminal App to measure the internet speed.

Has someone same experiences or is this a bug by macOS Tahoe in context with a 10Gb Ethernet interface?

try a different port...

not the DFU port if that is the issue: How to identify the DFU port on Mac - Apple Support

try a different adapter...

and compare your results.

verify your software is up to date—

I think, it makes so sense to get direct in contact with Apple, due to my issue with the build-in 10Gb Ethernet interface and macOS Tahoe. From the hardware side everything is ok, that shows macOS Sequoia and my warranty time is over. My hope is, that anybody from Apple have a look on this forum to analyze and pick possible real issues and to let evaluate these by the developers.

Hi @dialabrain,

As I described, I have the same environment from the physical point of view. No Changes with Ethernet cables (Cat7 by the way), switch and router. The Software, macOS Tahoe 26.1, has a problem for me with a build-in 10Gb-Interface in my MacMini M2 Pro from 2023. Because macOS Sequoia shows the perfect support and Ethernet speed.
