Lately I saw that my Mac is running slow. Not hot but slow. I searched for a while and found the solution.
Step 1: Open Finder
Step 2: Press Go on the menu bar and then Go to Folder or press shift + command + G
Step 3: Type ~/Library/Caches/ then press enter
Step 4: Press command + a then command + backspace (remove all files)
Step 5: Remove all files
I tried it and my Mac is running normal. Hope it helps!

Caches exist to speed up your Mac by caching regularly accessed information and settings. By deleting them all you're doing is forcing the OS to rebuild the caches - a process thta takes time and so... slows down your Mac.

There are a myriad of causes for a Mac running slow. There is no single solution for all of them any more than there is one pill to treat all diseases.
