iPhone 17 Telephone changes randomly when ever I move it, set it down, pick it up, etc.

I am not a knowledgable iPhone person. For instance, this is just one example of what is happening with this telephone. If I search for a topic on Safari. I locate a video on YouTube. I click upon the video, while watching it, if I move the phone in Any direction, or set it down, it will perform random undesired activities, including closing the video/browser window, or stopping the video from playing. I prefer not to switch the screen orientation off if possible. Is there something in the settings that can stop this from happening? I'm not sure why anyone would want the phone to be so sensitive to movement, that it will change functions via very small movements. For your consideration - I thank you.

Forgive my phone ignorance. I honestly do not recall all of the movement related issues I've had with this phone. There have been a great deal of them. Last night, I performed a search using Safari. Located a video, which was from YouTube, which I have the app. Opened and began watching the video normally on the phone. I moved to a different position, and sat in a different location. At that time I gently set the phone next to me on a chair, this caused the video to stop and the phone closed the YouTube app. When I picked up the phone, I had to click upon the video again, back in Safari which led me back again to YouTube. Moments later, while watching said video, I was placing the phone upon my desk right next to me - where I could still watch the screen, the video stopped again, I cannot recall exactly the outcome, except that it took further similar procedures to correct it. I have owned several iPhones over the years, but I never had one that was so sensitive - or that could switch to a different function without any request - but merely with a very small amount of movement in nearly any axis or dimension. Perhaps this is a necessary function for children's video games - I do not know. I was hoping there was a setting that I could modify to stop this from happening. The only thing I've found so far from the internet, was changing the orientation lock - which I would prefer not to do.

This phone has so, so, many strange glitches. Nothing like some of my older iPhones. I won't get in to all of those now. Hoping that someone would give me a helpful hint to solve this issue ASAP.
