Unavailability of Apple Pay in Indonesia

Why is Apple Pay not available in Indonesia? when will it be available?

Recently, tap-to-pay payments in Indonesia have grown quite rapidly. Most recently, the central bank (Bank Indonesia) has released QRIS Tap, which is a development of QRIS (QR Payment) that requires just a tap instead of scan the QR Code, but it is only available on Android. Contactless credit cards are also quite popular in Indonesia, but until now Apple Pay is not available in Indonesia. I hope Apple will open access to Apple Pay in Indonesia or at least NFC Payment for third parties, which was previously possible in iOS 18, but Indonesia is not yet a supported region.
