Downloading a custom lock screen image from an iPhone

I have a lock screen on my SE that has some sentimental value. I'd like to transfer it to a new phone. How do I download it (as a jpg) that I can add to Photos, and upload to my new phone?

If the photo isn't stored on your phone, you can't store the photo from your lock screen as a photo, with the exception of taking a screen shot of the lock screen. But will save as a photo of the lock screen, not just the photo you used for your lockscreen.

If you use QuickStart to move from your iPhone SE to a new iPhone, the lock screen will be restored to the new iPhone --> Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Your new phone will look like your old phone and the lock screen will be on your new iPhone.

Thank you. QuickStart will get me what I want. But if I do a screen shot of my lock screen, would that not be sufficient as a photo for a new lock screen? Um, except I guess the screen shot will be polluted by the text at the very top of the screen that is imposed by the OS.

No. If you take a screenshot of your current lock screen it will show not just the photo, but everything on your lock screen at the moment you took the screenshot. That includes the Clock, any widgets you have, the camera and flashlight buttons, etc. That wouldn't work well as the lock screen wallpaper on a new phone.
