iPhone 15 not ringing for incoming calls and receiving delayed texts

Reaching out to the community to see if anyone else has experienced this…I have an iphone 15, IOS 18.7.1 periodically my husband will call my phone but my phone does not ring. Once this happens I will turn my phone off and back on and then calls can successfully come through. I have started turning my phone off and on, daily, to make sure I can get calls. I have noticed at times, once the phone is turned back on, multiple texts will come through immediately. Any idea on what is happening with my phone? I can’t miss his calls due to his health issues.

Troubleshooting iPhone Cellular:

A. Update your iOS:

iOS26.1 is the most-recent available update, as of this reply. Updates contact bug fixes, and include enhancements.

1. Back Up First:

IMPORTANT: If you have an option to update, however, then be certain you backup your iPhone first. That way, you will have something to restore your iPhone from should anything go wrong with the update

then...

2. Proceed with the Update:

Other than through the iPhone itself, you can do so through use of a computer, and through use of Cellular (use cellular if you have an unlimited Caller plan, as update through cellular will coast a load of money, being you are outdoing your limits of data consumption)

B. Install a Cellular Update:

Your device is quite old. So, that may be the culprit. But, before making that assertion, try the following. It might be an indication for a Cellular update to install. So, go here for that: Update your Carrier Settings Manually on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

C. Visit these Links:

  • Report this to Apple:

Do your part: Let Apple know what is going on here. Provide them with feedback on this. They may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they received on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in updates to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Comment: on when this issue began, and how you have troubleshot this, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
  3. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  4. Proceed from there aw necessary

Yes I actually went to a Verizon store where they did a “technical” reset. This did not permanently fix the issue. It appears I frequently have either one or two bars on my cellular data signal.

Single-Out they Device:

So, how’s the Cellular signal in all of your other devices? In a rural district, expect a weak signal. It took until the middle of of the last decade for my locales to upgrade the service signals to what they should be!

Have you look at your cellular data signal?

Have you reported the issue to your phone carrier?
