On macOS 26, the “Get Verification Code” button is missing

On macOS 26, the “Get Verification Code” option is missing under Settings → iCloud → Sign-In & Security → Two-Factor Authentication.


I’m not sure why, but my Mac often fails to receive the two-factor authentication alert, which prevents me from logging into Apple services on the web. How can I resolve this issue?


I haven’t set up any security keys, yet the “Get Verification Code” button is still missing.


Is this a bug, or an intentional change in macOS 26?

Do you have the option "Device not available" appear when a 2FA is sent? If so, click that button/link which will allow you to use another option for 2FA. I have to do this because I have two AppleIDs....one of which is not associated with any of my devices so when I do some things with that 2nd AppleID, I need to use one of those other options.
