See in this picture ? The clip with the yellow border around it has audible sound when I play itfrom where it's sitting in the library there (is it the library ??) Anyway, when I drag it to the project timeline (again, I dunno if my terminology is correct) the audio dissapears. What on earth is goin on with that ?
You have the "Source Media" set to "Video Only".
Press Shift-1, or click here and choose "All":
Then drag the clip again to the timeline.
On terminology; the Library is the whole thing, the childish purple icon you see in the Finder. What all other NLEs call a Project. In FCP the Project is a timeline you edit in, where you're losing your audio here. Where you see the image highlighted in yellow is called the Media Browser, or just Browser for short. Glad it was such an easy fix!
