New Apple Pencil pro isn’t working.

Hello everyone!


I just bought the new iPad 2025 along with the Apple Pencil Pro.


After turning off my iPad, the next day the Pencil Pro suddenly stopped working. It looks like the Bluetooth connection keeps dropping and it won’t stay connected.


I contacted Apple Support, and we tried resetting all the connections, but nothing worked.


Right now, I can’t visit an Apple Store because I’m traveling through Thailand, and Support couldn’t find any store close to my current location.


I’m really frustrated because I bought this device to work while traveling, and now I can’t use the Pencil at all.


Does anyone have suggestions or has experienced something similar?

Troubleshooting while travelling is often difficult and/or frustrating - as you likely have limited access to support options. Fortunately, your iPad should remain useable without its Pencil - as you can replicate (albeit less precise) Pencil interaction with your finger until the problem is resolved with your Pencil.


Clearly, without more information, contributors here have no idea what you may have already tried with assistance from Apple Support. It is perhaps unlikely that we can provide any more insight into your current difficulties than you have already obtained directly from Apple.


Nonetheless, in absence of information as to what you have already attempted, begin by "forgetting" the Pencil from Bluetooth settings:

Settings > Bluetooth > [My Devices] Apple Pencil - tap the blue "i" icon, then select Forget this Device


Once removed from Bluetooth Settings, re-pair the Pencil with the iPad.


If this doesn't resolve the problem, the next step is to reset your iPad's Network Settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset Network Settings

If you are experiencing inconsistencies with your Apple Pencil and iPad, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.


Alternatively you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to assist with troubleshooting:

Hello, thank you for answering.


All the steps that you mention before were done and the pencil didn’t star work. However 24 hrs after it startet to work again.


Nevertheless, now the pen seems to work, but I’m noticing that there are irregularities with the pencil pro. Right now while I’m writing the email I can’t make the pencil pro to work.
