Problems with Komplete audio 6 and Macbook air Ableton

Is the Komplete audio 6 compatible with a 2025 macbook air with an m4 chip? Whenever I try to use this interface on ableton, the audio is completey fine but when I record and play back, the audio is super low and scratchy.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.6

Do you think it is worth it to get a more compatible audio interface?

Unless you have reason to believe the device is not compatible, then that would not yet be my first instinct.

Have you visited the Native Instruments website for assistance?

Have you visited the Ableton support forums for assistance?

Perhaps there's something that can be addressed in Ableton settings.

Have you checked the firmware version of the device? Maybe there's an available update for that.

Have you tried to use the interface with a different recording package like, maybe, Garage Band?

If so, does the problem also happen there?

So many unanswered questions.

Sounds to me like you're answering your own question.

The Naive Instruments website lists two versions of the Komplete Audio 6 interface; the MK1 and the MK2.

If you have the MK1 then I'm inclined to agree that it may not be compatible with macOS Tahoe and maybe it's time to find an interface that is. That might be the MK2.

If you have the MK2 version, then I would first make sure that I've installed the latest firmware update for that model. It's available at the link I posted above. If it has the latest firmware on board and you still have problems after contacting Native Instruments for guidance, then yes, it's probably time to look for a different interface.

Native Instruments is who you should be asking about compatibility of their interface.

Neither Komplete nor Ableton are Apple products. Each is from a separate publisher.

Your first check should be with each developer to determine whether those packages are compatible with your currently installed OS. If they are not, then perhaps the developer has updates available that you can apply to their software.

Speaking of updates, the current stable release of Sequoia is 15.7.2. You might first try applying that update to your Mac as it includes some fixes.

Sorry, no, I do not have a suggestion for a Tahoe specific interface. I haven't pulled the trigger on that OS yet.

If you've been happy with the KA6 up to now, then take a look at the current offerings from NI.

Otherwise there are tons of interfaces available with all manner of whistles and bells. Define your budget and visit such sites as Sweetwater Sound, Amazon and B&H Photo to get an idea of what's available in your price range.
