I'm currently using the drive linked to below. I don't do a lot of burning anymore so it doesn't get a lot of use but works well when I need it.

There are many external drives out there that will work with Macs. Some specifically mention that they work with Macs and others don't address this one way or the other. If the drives come with burning software included that software may not work with Macs, leaving you to look for burning software.

One thing to keep in mind as you are shopping. Some drives draw power from two USB ports. That can be a problem unless you are using a hub. You'll probably need a hub with its own power supply to burn reliably. The drive I've link to has a power port on the back that accepts a micro USB cable that I've plugged into and old iPhone charger I had around the house. It works fine that way. The data cable connection works with either USB A or C ports.

I would just shop online or go into a store that sells electronics. I have two; one I bought in a store and the other I bought online. Apple used to sell their Superdrive but you didn't have to have an Apple brand, nor do they appear to sell it anymore.

Just make sure that the USB connector matches that on your computer or that you have an adapter.
