Can I exchange reward items without a receipt?

I'm expecting to receive an iphone and a macbook pro as a "reward" from a business. See Wealthsimple's current promotion. I would much prefer to apply the value of these items to a different item from Apple. Is there a way to exchange an item that I won't have any receipt for under these circumstances?

MacBook Pro (M5, 2025)

Ask Apple. The only thing I can think of would be Apple Trade In - Apple

Refer to this page for Apple Support for different countries ➔

Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (if you do not see your country, also look for "other" in regions; e.g., "Other Africa"), then "Choose a product". Click the "show" item under each category for more selections. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

I would also ask the company giving this to you. Because of the Activation lock system you could really be at a disadvantage should you lose access to your account and could not regain it. Without a receipt you could not get Apple to unlock the device and would have to recycle it.

Edit:

I presume you are referring to this? --> https://promotions.wealthsimple.com/hc/en-ca/articles/41973622872603-Wealthsimple-2025-Apple-Promotion

See the document about gift options. It appears to be relatively inflexible so your option may really be to do a trade-in. You can anticipate to lose a bit doing that.

Sell it on the open market is an option.

1) I agree with selling on the open market, but because a person will get more for it than as a trade-in. Of course then there's the hassle of selling it, and not having an original receipt to give a buyer.

2) If it is the offer to which I posted a link, some of the items are current models and Apple does not do trade-ins on those. The lower end models mentioned are not so clear. We also don't know how these "gifts" are being handled. It could be that the company bought a crate of computer and a crate of iPhones to give away, and therefore these aren't "new" from Apple's perspective.
