Yesterday, an alert notification started on my iMac using OS 26.1. How do I stop this random (occurring approximately every 20 seconds) alert notification. I've rebooted, disabled all application notifications in system settings but the alert continues.

Go to Safari > Settings > Websites > Notifications, and remove all websites you have previously allowed to send you Notifications.

No problem. At fist read I though that you were saying that I played around with the settings, when I've been using the default screenshot settings for over 20 years.
Turned off "Play user interface sound effects. Alert still present.
I've rebooted, disabled all app notifications and wasted about 8 hours reinstalling 26.1.
Found alarm in Clock app; no timer or alarm has been set.
Thank you for the update. No need to feel embarrassed and I respect that you did update after you found out what was causing the beep.
