Please Fix Voice Dictation and Numbers Typing all over iPhone screen

My iPhone 13 Pro Max started listening and typing everything it hears all of a sudden this morning. I did nothing to enable this change. Why does Apple do this? Why are these threads closed that keep coming up, over and over? The answers given on previous questions do not apply to IOS26. The instructions given for places to go to turn this off do not exist. In IOS26 can someone please advise how to turn off the feature that causes the phone to listen and type eveything it hears, whether it is a TV, radio, or someone else's voice? Is it possible for Apple to develop the software to only respond to the trained voice of the phone's owner?

Threads are closed when they have become stagnant and the OP is no longer responding. You have also found that many of these older threads no longer apply with later version of the OS, so it would not make sense to reply to those posts and would often find them closed. The correct approach would be to post your own question with the updated information exactly like you have down here.

The Accessibility feature that listens to spoken content is Voice Control, and for iOS 26 you can see here where to shut that option off.

Since you referenced numbers being visible on your screen, that is an indication that you do have Voice Control turned on and you can see examples of what that looks like here and how they are used along with the same instructions to shut Voice Control off as seen above.

As for Apple being able to develop Siri to only respond to a specific voice, sure it is possible and currently used on the HomePod to prevent personal information from being heard when the owners voice is not detected. That would be a feature request and you can submit that here:

You can certainly switch to any platform you wish and it makes no difference to any of us. If you are looking for a solution then you are going to need to provide more information on what you are seeing it, where you are seeing it and the Settings that you have actually turned off. Provide a screenshot if you wish as long as it does not include any personal information.

Did you turn off Voice Control at Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control? This is different than the Voice Over setting you see on top of that list. This setting is turned off by default, so it would have had to been turned on by you.

My phone is always listening. Microphone is off, siri is off, dictation is off and it still listens. I went into every setting to try and fix it and found nothing helpful, and yes, I even went into settings that clearly had nothing to do but I am at my witts end. This is a very serious privacy issue and concern. I am this close 🤏 to switch to android and I can’t even vent because it will hear me and interrupt my typing. Very bad. 10 points down for apple. I am seriously thinking of switching after 17 years of loyalty!!!!
