Application memory on a Mac is the amount of RAM (Random Access Memory) that is currently being used by your running applications to function. It's a temporary space that apps use to hold data while they are active, and it is cleared when you shut down the computer. You can view your Mac's application memory usage in the Activity Monitor app.
