Game Center Crashes Everything And Can't Be Disabled

Game Center is completely broken and has been for years.

Every time I open a game on my iPhone, it freezes the instant it tries to communicate with Game Center. Every time I try to access Game Center preferences in Settings, it stays on a black screen with a spinning wheel indefinitely. Every time I try to disable it from iCloud settings, my Settings app freezes instantly in iOS.

I have the EXACT same behavior on my new Mac mini too, AND on my other iPhone.

Come on, this is really pathetic Apple. Honestly it's always some BS with iCloud, iCloud Hide My Email forwarding was also broken from its release until finally being fixed in the last 12 months.

DO NOT TELL ME TO UPDATE MY OPERATING SYSTEM. MY OPERATING SYSTEM IS ALWAYS UPDATED AND IS NOT THE ISSUE.

This issue confirms that your Game Center profile on Apple’s servers is corrupted, which causes the interface to hang on every device as it attempts to fetch the broken data. To break this loop, you must sever the connection before the settings menu tries to load: enable Airplane Mode, force restart your device to clear the frozen process and then navigate to Settings > Game Center while still offline.

Without an internet connection, the device skips the server handshake that causes the crash, allowing you to finally scroll down and tap Sign Out. If that fails, you can use Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions to block "Multiplayer Games" and "Adding Friends," effectively killing the service locally.

However, since the corruption is on the server side, the only permanent solution is to contact Apple Support and specifically request a "server-side reset" of your Game Center profile from their Tier 2 team.
