The battery would have had to have dropped under 80% in January 2025 in order to receive a free battery.....unless you had optional AppleCare+ coverage on the iPhone.
To clarify. let's say that you purchased the phone on January 15, 2024. So, you would have had to have taken the phone in for a free battery replacement before January 15, 2025.
