Apple Gift Card refund not received — what is the expected refund timeline?

I purchased an Apple Gift Card via email from Nepal using an international card. The payment was deducted, but the gift card was not delivered, so I cancelled the order.


I received an email confirming the cancellation, but I do not see any refund status in reportaproblem.apple.com.


Can someone tell me:


1) How long Apple Gift Card refunds usually take?


2) Is there any alternate way to contact Apple Support from a country without local Apple support?


Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

To check if chat support is available, first go to this link:

Official Apple Support


Under the section for "Get Support", choose Start Now. You will need to type what information you are looking for and would suggest typing "Gift Cards". That will list some related Support Article and on the bottom you should have a button that says "Get more help" where your support option will be seen. If Live Chat is available, you can use that. That is what I see in my region, but not positive about yours.


I have never seen a follow up email that would show refund status as Apple does not know when your bank would post the refund to your account. After the refund is initiated which should have been the case with the cancellation email, then it is up to your bank of the issued card to post the refund to your account. In most cases, this takes about 5-7 business days, but that is beyond what Apple can control, so the recommendation for other refunds such as App Store refunds is to contact the financial institution if it has been longer than 30 days.

Apple does not have an email address for the Apple Gift Card support team. That was either totally made up or an AI Hallucination. I agree with the refund period that was suggested, but it is not helpful when inaccurate and unverified information is provided. Always test an AI response if that is the main source of information.

I wanted to ask—when an Apple Gift Card order is cancelled, is it normal to receive only the cancellation email and not any follow-up email about the refund status? I haven’t received any refund confirmation yet, so I just want to know if that’s expected.


Also, since I’m in a country where Apple phone (USA phone number) support is not available, is there any official way to contact Apple regarding Gift Card issues? For example, is there an Apple Support chat link or another official method I might be missing? Or any support email, which might be helpful?
