Global Player radio stations unavailable in Apple Music

I'm based inthe UK and noticed in the last hour or so (27 Nov 25 12pm GMT) that I cannot play any radio stations (e.g. Classic FM, Capital) that are part of the Global Player network, either within Apple Music on my phone or via my HomePods. It was working first thing this morning but when I try now I just get the "resource" unavailable" error. I can play other radio stations that come under the "Local Broadcasters" section that are served by TuneIn (such as Virgin Radio UK or Smooth Chill).

I can play these Global Player radio stations directly on their web app and on the app on my phone but not via Apple Music.

Strange that it should have been working 4 hours ago but not now. I have not had any internet connection outages, changed or logged in or out of any accounts, or updated any apps, unless it's happened automatically in the background and I wasn't aware

Any ideas what could be causing the issue?

From Apple:

"Apple changed the backend for radio streaming but didn’t fully update Siri to handle these cases consistently. For stations like LBC, Siri still looks for the old Global stream first and fails instead of automatically switching to TuneIn.

We’ve noted it as a bug. We’ve escalated this feedback to Apple for review."

The point being that WE should not be required to add "via TuneIn" (the 'workaround' which is not completely reliable) to force the backend to go via TuneIn if the Global stream has been deprecated but somehow left instructionally available.

Update 05Dec25 18:00 GMT (day 9): I chased up Global Player support again to see if they could add weight by means of an escalation into Apple for a speedy resolution, here’s their response… “I (GP service agent) have been in touch with our team, who have confirmed that they're still in talks with Apple directly to resolve this issue.

Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm a time frame as to when this will be resolved.”

Update 01Dec25 16:00GMT (day 5): I chased up Apple support under my case ref, Apple are aware of this issue affecting a number of radio services, not just Classic FM, no fix date as yet.

I have noticed recently that very occasionally streaming connection for Classic FM is made but drops out after 30 seconds, having said that most attempts do not connect and Siri reports “sorry, there was a problem with Apple Music”…the wait continues.
