Images in Messages not showing when I want to send one

What does this mean.“CFNetworkDownload_ThWZKo.tmp” couldn’t be moved to “Caches” because either the former doesn’t exist, or the folder containing the latter doesn’t exist. I get this error and a blank trying to load message images. This has happened when I switched to Tahoe 26, I do not have this issue on my iphone 16pro or my iPad air.

Re: "Images in Messages not showing when I want to send one"

Wondering in which of the ways available you were trying to show the images in order to choose one to send.

Eg: Are you selecting an image in the Photos app, and trying to share that via Messages ?

or

Are you trying to view images others have sent to you in messages app in order to send one of them ?

or

neither of the above ....

Seems the error message may mean that you were trying to load an image that didn't exist.

Here's Apple Support's online article for MacOS 26

Keep track of shared content in Messages on Mac - Apple Support

Eg: says:

Content sent to you with Messages automatically appears in a Shared with You section in those apps when you turn on Shared with You. For example, when Shared with You is on for Photos, an image a friend sends you also appears in your photo library.

  1. Go to the Messages app  on your Mac.
  2. Choose Messages > Settings, then click Shared with You.
  3. Click Turn On.

To stop getting the content you receive in Messages in the Shared with You section of other apps, click Turn Off, or unselect individual apps in the list."

The MacOS is a different operating system.

Sometimes, after a major upgrade, things may work differently than you were used to in earlier MacOS versions.
