UPS claims it can’t find my address in rural Nevada, however, FedEx doesn’t have that issue. Why does Apple use a delivery system that has an outdated mapping system?

Oddly enough for me Fed Ex always delivers my packages to the same house 1 street over even when the label correctly shows the street name, and UPS is not a problem. I do understand the frustration of a package delivered to the wrong house.

In any case, if engraving is important to you, just have it shipped to the Apple Store. If you were going to go to the Apple Store to make a purchase anyway, there really is no difference and you would not have to worry about the delivery to your house. I have done this for recent purchases and would recommend it where porch pirates are on the rise, especially during the Holiday season.

In the past, UPS has delivered my other on-line purchases to my address but in another town (Dayton, Nevada) about 80 miles south of where i live, that’s why if the company uses UPS I cancel the purchase.

If Apple demanded more from these delivery companies they would perform better.

from now on I will buy at Costco and may consider buying Dell products.

That will solve the problem. The choice of what you buy or where you purchase it is yours to make. You won't get any push back from me. I was under the impression that the only reason you used online ordering was for the engraving, and Costco does not provide that service for either product. Maybe you are looking for satisfaction from making a spite purchase and that is the motivation. In any case, get one that meets your needs and you will be fine.
