How to renew expired AppleCare+ for a Mac with a Ukrainian account and payment issue in Turkey?

Today, my AppleCare+ for a one-year-old Mac expired due to a "problem with your payment method and we could not process the recurring fee payment for your plan referenced above." I've contacted Apple Support while the warranty was active, about 5 days before the expiration date. I thought it would be a 10-minute thing to fix it, but it turned out to be a 6-hour-long journey, which is ongoing. I have a Ukrainian account, and I paid for the AppleCare+ without any problem in Turkey for the first time. It is still visible in my account, and I've never changed my account region; it's just where I've been geographically (Turkey). Also, I successfully paid for Apple Music with that same payment method, which appeared to be problematic for AppleCare. I've talked to many Apple Support representatives since then, and none could help me. They all suggested changing a region, which I could not do immediately due to my ongoing Apple Music subscription. Now, I cancelled it. But AppleCare+ is already gone, too, unavailable to renew. So what am I waiting to change my region for? That's a huge disappointment to want to pay for the service that does not care about me. NO ONE HELPED ME. Still, I wonder if that can be fixed. Any ideas?

I suggest you go to Legal - AppleCare Protection Plan Terms and Conditions - Apple

and search for your equipment and country. I find it odd that you purchased Applecare but neither country you mention is on that list.

If you do find one that applies to you, you may wish to read the entire thing about what is and is not covered where you have a Mac purchased in one country but you are looking for service in another country.

For a different perspective:

We never buy AppleCare. Sure, it may save you money if something goes wrong with a device, but in the end the only winners with with extended warranties are the issuers. We are on our 4th generation of iPhones and have probably saved $800 in not having purchased Applecare. Now don't forget that the first year is covered by the regular warranty and if you do get a bad device then likely the issue will show up while still under warranty. It's only in subsequent years that Applecare may really play a role. Even then, you still pay some for repairs.

In addition we are very careful with equipment. In over 4 generations of iPhones and 20+ years of Macs we have never needed a single repair. That means the next iPhone we purchase will essentially be free with the money we have saved.

Basically, extended warranties are for those who cannot afford to buy a new device should they lose theirs, or cannot afford a standard repair charge. Yes, you will hear from those who will say they have had several repairs on machines, but if a vendor was really losing money on extended warranties, do you think they would offer them? Think of averages.

I guess what I am saying is, I wouldn't be so upset that you cannot renew your AppleCare.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I somewhat agree, but this would have been my !second! year, meaning that's when it all should finally pay off.

A big UPDATE: I finally purchased Apple Care, simply from another country's store, the option no one suggested. However, it is linked to the device only, not to the account. So, soon I will change my account's region, hoping to link those. The credits for this idea go to Apple Support. Together we did it lol
