Can AppleCare+ be transferred to a replacement iPhone after theft?

My new iPhone has been stolen. I had had it just over a month and had just purchased AppleCare+ for the device two weeks ago (expires in November 2027). If I buy a replacement iPhone, can I transfer the AppleCare+ to the new phone?

applecare+ with theft and loss will replace the phone and automatically transfer Applecare+

Applecare+ without theft and loss will refund the outstanding fees on cancellation.
