Speak Screen icon stuck on iPhone home screen

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my iPhone — the Speak Screen icon is stuck on my home screen and I can’t seem to remove it.

I tried turning off Speak Screen in Accessibility → Spoken Content, but the icon still remains visible on the screen.

Has anyone encountered this before or knows how to get rid of it?

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

The floating icon appears when Speak Controller is enabled.

Turn it off completely:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Accessibility
  3. Spoken Content
  4. Speak Controller → Turn OFF

Once this switch is off, the floating controller should disappear immediately.

Thank you, Aashok Kumar Sharma, but I’m not exactly sure what you meant in step (3).

I went to Settings → Accessibility, and so far everything matches and I completed steps (1) and (2) as you described.

However, I can’t find step (3) anywhere in the menu.

Just to clarify — I’m using iPhone 17 Pro Max running iOS 26.1.

Thanks again for your help! 🙏
