Apple Watch Series 3 sometimes does not accept capital letters when entering a password

I have a series 3 apple watch and when I try to input my pw it does not accept the capital letter SOMETIMES, I enter with my finger. There is an up arrow but even when that is entered it does not switch to capital letters. Why is this happening?

This is a known quirk on Apple Watch Series 3 (especially on watchOS 8, which is the last version it supports).

The issue is NOT your password, and not your typing — it’s the tiny on-screen keyboard + shift-state bug on older watch models. Your Series 3 has a known bug where Scribble sometimes ignores capital letters even when Shift is active. It happens randomly on older watchOS and is not your fault. The best fixes are: wait briefly after tapping Shift, use the keyboard instead of Scribble, unlock using your iPhone, or restart the Watch. The hardware is fine — it’s a software limitation of the older model.
