A Software Update Is Required To Connect iPhone - window popped up?

This just started appearing on my MacBook Pro running macOS Sequoia 15.7.2. I’ve never seen this message before. Is this a legitimate system prompt from Apple, or could it be some kind of scam or spoofed alert?

Yes you need to Install that update, if you want to manually USB sync your iPhone with your Mac.
