Mac Mail: Emails won't delete

Question

Just bought this new Mac in the summer. My emails will not delete. they keep coming back. I have thousands of emails now. What am I doing wrong?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

Check to see how you have Mailbox Behaviours set up.

Settings>Accounts>
