How to remove screentime restrictions after turning 18 on iPhone?

I just turned 18 and I still can't change my screentime restrictions or access my name in my settings. Does it take a while for me to be able to do that, or does it never happen? There is a screentime password set but I can't change it from my phone.

I have seen conflicting statements about this from contributors here versus what Apple says. Some say if a parent set them then they have to remove them. Apple says in Family Sharing overview for kids and teens - Apple Support --> "When you turn 18, you can decide to leave your Family Sharing group or manage your own Screen Time settings."
