Unable to import music from CD to M4 MacBook Pro

Have you read Apple's instructions? --> Import songs from CDs into Music on Mac - Apple Support

Make sure that in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files & Folders, there is an entry for Music that has a Removable Volumes switch that is turned on.

When I upgraded from Ventura to Sequoia, I tried to put this in manually, but could not see a way to do it. Then, I ran Music and it offered to create such an entry.

"Unable to import music from CD to M4 MacBook Pro: How do I copy music from a CD to my M4 MacBook Pro? It doesn't see my older CD drive or I can't find it. Every one of these CD's was on my last Mac and have vanished from my Music app. Help?"

Recovering Lost Home Music:

Are you using an Apple Music Subscription? If not, they will stay locally stored --and lost if you never backed up your Mac If so, they will be accessible between all of your devices. So, be certain you are signed into the same Apple Account on these devices.

If it comes to it, you'd:

1. Create: a Time Machine Backup of your Mac
2. Restore: your Mac from a Time Machine Backup that has these files
3. Export: these files
4. Restore: your Mac from the Time Machine Backup you created in step 1
5. Create: a Time Machine Backup of your Mac, having just restored.
