No Alarm Notifications on Garmin Watch after iOS Update

After the recent iOS 26.1 update , I am experiencing an issue where alarm notifications no longer appear on my Garmin watch. As a result, I am unable to turn off the alarm directly from the watch, as I used to be able to do before.

This is very inconvenient, especially because I rely on the watch for these types of notifications, and now I must use my iPhone to disable the alarm. This is particularly unsafe when driving, as I cannot interact with my phone while on the road.

The app developer or the device manufacturer may not have updated their software to ensure compatibility with the iOS version your device is currently running.

If you encounter any challenges with third-party applications or devices, the best course of action is to directly contact the app developer or the manufacturer for further assistance.

Here's a brief guide on how to contact the App Developer:

  1. Identify the app developer.
  2. Visit their website or app store listing.
  3. Look for their contact information or support channels.
  4. Clearly describe the issue you are facing.
  5. Provide any necessary information they may need.
  6. Follow their instructions and provide feedback.
  7. Be patient and follow up if needed.

By reaching out to the app developer, you increase your chances of receiving accurate and personalized support for the challenges you're experiencing. To contact an App developer --> How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

Check this, first.

Or Use and customize the Action button on iPhone - Apple Support (IN)

Then please check the following.

Notification Preview when Screen is Locked, Notification Alerts, Notification OFF, and much more...

  1. To get Notifications when the Screen is locked see the pic below which is self-explanatory
  2. To turn ON notifications selectively for apps, go to Settings > Notifications > Scroll Down to the App and turn ON notifications... Change notification settings on iPhone - Apple Support (IN)
  3. Some apps have their own notification settings over and above the iOS notification settings: An example of Instagram Notification settings is given below
  4. Help for Notification Alerts --> No Notification Alerts - Apple Community
  5. For VIP email Alerts refer to the pic below

Thank you for your input. I completely understand that not every issue is caused by Apple or iOS updates.

For clarification: my iPhone 13 Pro is not jailbroken or modified, and all other notifications work correctly. The issue is specific to alarm notifications on my Garmin watch after the iOS 26.1 update.

I have already contacted Garmin support and went through all the settings step by step with a representative. Everything appears to be correct, but the alarm notifications still do not work. Garmin advised me to reach out to Apple for further assistance, as the issue seems related to how the Garmin alarm interacts with iOS.

I’m not attributing all problems to iOS, only this specific functionality that no longer works as expected. I appreciate your guidance and just want to find a solution for this particular problem.

Thank you.
