Help needed - problem flushing dns in Monterey

Hello. I am kind of stymied trying to flush the dns on my iMac, running OS Monterey 12.7.6.

I used Terminal for the first time in over a year, with the following result:

The default interactive shell is now zsh.
To update your account to use zsh, please run `chsh -s /bin/zsh`.
For more details, please visit Page Not Found - Official Apple Support
iMac:~ jcs$ chsh -s /bin/zsh
Changing shell for jcs.
Password for jcs:
chsh: Credentials could not be verified, username or password is invalid. Credentials
could not be verified, username or password is invalid.

However, username and pw have not been changed!

When I went directly to Apple support, the instructions were:

How to change your default shell
From the command line
In Terminal, enter $ chsh -s path, where path is one of the shell paths listed
 in /etc/shells, such as /bin/zsh, /bin/bash, /bin/csh, /bin/dash, /bin/ksh, /bin/sh or
/bin/tcsh.

I don't know what to select here! I can use Terminal when I am given specific instructions, but multiple options baffle me when I have no idea what they are talking about!

Please help!
