Unable to update my apps
I use iPhone 12 and I can’t update of my apps because of pending debits on my card. Those pending are for cancelled services and I do not intend to renew. Now, they’re affecting me. What can I do?

Pay the debts you owe and then ask for refunds if you wish to try for them. Refunds are an exception. Until you pay what you owe, Apple won't let you continue to download things through the App or Media Stores.
Here's how to request an app or media refund from Apple (From: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support - see the article for more detail.)
1. Sign in to https://reportaproblem.apple.com
2. Tap or click "I'd like to," then choose "Request a refund."
3. Choose the reason why you want a refund, then choose Next.
4. Choose the app, subscription, or other item, then choose Submit.
If you were charged for a subscription that you no longer want, you can also cancel the subscription using the directions in this article --> If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support
Read this support article for information about how long it takes to receive a refund (if you are granted one), and how to check the status of a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple --> Check the status of a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support

When you update your card, Apple will attempt to complete any and all pending payments you may have.
Subscriptions that were canceled before they renewed should remain cancelled and not charge anything else. Subscriptions that you let lapse because you failed to pay for the renewal will attempt to complete the pending charge.
As mentioned by Limnos you will be required to fulfill any debt you may have acquired by blocking payments rather than cancelling active subscriptions before you are allowed to use store services again.
Apple Support is unlikely to tell you anything different in this case.
You should cancel subscriptions before they need to renew if you no longer want them and not let them lapse because you blocked the payment. That's never the answer.

I am not fully understanding what you are saying. Even if you had free trial, if you did not cancel your automatic subscription in time, Apple will charge you. If Apple charges you, you have no option but to pay if you wish to continue downloading. If you disagree with the charges, you use the link I provided to report a problem to Apple and make your case for a refund. Apple may or may not grant one.
If Apple has repeatedly tried to charge a card and it is not working then you need to add a method they can charge. Typically if a subscription has started, a card of some kind must be on the account even if you can actually pay using account balance. Apple doesn't say anything about blocking payment methods but I could see them giving up on a payment method that has repeatedly not worked and refusing to accept it ever again.
I see you were recommend to contact Apple. You are welcome to contact Apple but I highly doubt they would tell you anything different from what I posted. Yours is not the first post I have seen asking about this (more like the 500th), so some of us are very familiar with your resources here..
Also, read the article about subscriptions to which I posted a link. It is common for users to not notice there is a time limit by which they have to cancel a subscription or they will get charged automatically. If you ask for a refund Apple might grant you one, but they do not have to.
Thank you Limnos for your response. I’m actually not owing any vendor. The challenge they’re trying to automatically charge me after expired subscription or free period and I don’t want to subscribe. After many failed attempts to charge, apple blocked my card and now I can’t download or update my apps.
How do I make them realize that I’m not owing and I just want to update my apps.
Thanks.
So, right now, apart from just one subscription that is active, all other subscriptions are inactive. Maybe that’s because apple has tried multiple times to charge me to renew and the apps themselves have deactivated the automatic subscription. For a while, apple has not attempted to charge me again. If I change my card and put an active card, will this mean that apple will try to charge me for those inactive subscriptions again or it will solve my problem of not being able to download or update other apps? Please keep in mind that I’m not owing any vendor for unpaid services. Thanks
Thanks
For payment issues, I recommend contacting Apple Support for assistance.
Good luck! 👋🏼😉
