Safari address bar lags & crashes after update to 15.7.2

Safari address bar stuttering, getting spinning wheel, and crashing after update from 15.5 to 15.7.2. through the day typing into the safari address bar is very lagging and stuttering , sometimes 5+ seconds, and often causes the spinning wheel, which has resulted in safari crashing 3 times this week. occasionally opening a new tab is also laggy. just clicking on a websites url will lag as well. the only extension I have is Adguard and disabling it has not fixed it. I've seen a few other people post of the same issues on other forums , but haven't found a working solution other than waiting for the next update and hoping it resolves it. if anyone has some ideas I could try I'd appreciate it, I'm not that tech savvy
