Find me

hey Siri barely works. Allegedly when the iPhone shuts itself off because of low battery, it’s still findable but really it’s not. Couldn’t find it, went to find my to ping it but it didn’t work. I found it, plugged it on and lo and behold I got the find me ping.

How would you expect a phone which has shut down due to the battery running out to make a sound? What you shouldn't be doing it let the battery deplete at all. When you permit a Lion Battery fully deplete, you are aging the battery faster. Apple recommends never letting the battery go befow 20%.

Where are you seeing this information in an Apple Support document? Could you provide a link to the document?

Yes, the phone is still findable if it has been powered off, but this assumes that the battery still has some charge remaining. Can you think of any electronic device that will still operate when the battery has run down to nothing?
