Apple warranty policy for japan variant iPhones

I have a brand new inactive iPhone 17 pro bought from Japan. But I don’t live in Japan. In case I need to claim warranty, do I have to send it to Japan? Can I claim the warranty from any other country’s apple store? I searched the internet and saw things like I might have to send it to Japan due to it being a jp variant. Suppose I have a screen issue. Can I claim apple warranty service outside of Japan in that case?
