New 2019 iMac, How to use my Time Machine

I have a new iMac, Early 2019.

How can I use my old Time Machine disc (External HD) that was previously used as Time Machine with my old iMac?

meaning : I don’t need the Time Machine’s files, I want to format it and start using as new Time Machine with the new iMac

thank you.

Connect the disk and open Disk Utility. Choose the uppermost, unindented icon representing the entire disk. (You may need to use the "View" icon in the upper left to reveal it). Then click on erase. Format should be Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

After that open System Preferences > Time Machine and choose the disk as your TM backup.
