Mail program keeps re-downloading all emails several times a day

Since upgrading 10.14.4 both my MacBrook Pro and iMac keep downloading every (and I mean every) piece of email in my OS Mail program. I had hoped that I was not alone and that the next update would fix it. Installing 10.14.5 did not. Any suggestions?? Thank you.

Hello, if all your Mail Accounts are IMAP & not POP then try this...

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), wilst in Safe Mode in Mail select your Inbox for one, then from Mail's Mailbox menu item choose Rebuild, if needed Rince & Repeat for other boxes like sent & so on.
