Will the new Music in Catalina allow updating song lists on older ipods?
The new Catalina OS says that iTunes will be gone. Will we still be able to update playlists for older iPods? If not, what is the workaround?

The new Catalina OS says that iTunes will be gone. Will we still be able to update playlists for older iPods? If not, what is the workaround?
I was hoping that someone from Apple might monitor these posts. If they announce that iTunes will go away, they must have some idea how it will work & since iOS's for older iPods are never updated, will they be recognized by the new software? Or, will we have more e-waste?
it is more of a name change than anything else. the details will be released when the macOS is released.
None could possibly know that right now. Functionality will not change. Especially since you do not ever have to update to Catalina.

Once the beta is released to developers there is a good chance a lot of these little details will be addressed.
