Safari freezes and beeps

I recently downloaded google chrome, after download if I try and use safari it instantly freezes and if I click anywhere within the webpage I get beeps. I can minimize it or force close it, also chrome works fine. Tried changing between 2 as primary browsers but didn’t do anything. Idk if chrome is related to issue or not but ironic. Also Mac is up to date.

As a test, try uninstalling Chrome using Google's uninstall instructions. Then restart the computer and test.

You can also try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
