Final Cut Pro X and El Capitan OS

I have Final Cut Pro X on my system and have been running it for years. I recently updated the operating system to El Capitan, but now FCPX does not run. It says I need to update it.

The problem is that the update won't work with El Capitan because it is not the latest operating system. I can't update beyond El Capitan because I am on a Mac mini 3,1.

Is there an update somewhere for FCPX that works with El Capitan?

Mac mini, OS X 10.11

If you are booted into El Capitan go to the App Store and see if the application is listed in the Purchased page. If it is, move your current version to the trash (don't empty it) and redownload from the FCP page in the store. It will give you the latest available for your OS.
