Macbook pro enters sleep mode randomly

Macbook pro retina MF840HN/A (mojaveOS) goes to sleep randomly. Attempted reset of SMC and NVRAM configurations. Performed Apple diagnostic testing and no issues were found. But the sleep issue is not resolved. Even the OS was re-installed but the issue persists. Waking the device after manually putting the device to sleep (selecting Apple->Sleep) works fine, making the task to replicate the issue difficult. Request you to provide your suggestions/comments.

Hello lognat,

Thanks for using Apple Discussions. You tried the first two things I would have tried too (SMC and NVRAM). I would personally reach out to your local Apple Store or chat/call with Apple to get their input.

Chat/Call Apple Support: https://support.apple.com/

Find your nearest Apple Store: https://www.apple.com/retail/

Also see if you have any magnets near your device. If you keep a magnet close to the top of the speaker grill it will put the Mac to sleep.

Have a wonderful day!

I got the MBP diagnosed @ Apple service centre. The support team ran their test suite and all cases were successfully executed. The sleep/wake is difficult to replicate and this issue is not seen while the device is in recovery mode or safe mode. No magnets around the device. Even the put to sleep was disabled and still the sleep issue exists. Sharing any workaround for this problem will be very helpful.
