I found an iPhone and can't get Apple support to tell me who owns it. Their advice was to "keep it."
But... I can't get past the Activation Lock to use it. What can I do with it? I'd love to return it to whomever owns it. I'd rather not send it to the landfill.

Does it show carrier name when you power it up? Perhaps return it carrier. Or take it local police.

It's in Factory reset (Hello) mode, so no carrier info, but it does have a T-Mobile SIM card installed. I wonder if their Customer Support can associate the SIM card ID with a customer account.
