I can't find any of my documents following the new system update to Catalina?

I used to have a file called 'documents' with all my work in, but can no longer see it? Please help!

MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.15

The Documents folder is part of the default set of folders installed by macOS.

If you open a New Finder Window, you u should see documents in the sidebar on the left

or if you navigate in Column View, click on Users, click on <Home> you should see

Documents in the 3rd column. See screenshot below.
