Using Apple TV in different countries

I am Swiss and have Swiss Apple-ID. Part time I am living in the US. Tried to install on my new Smart TV here in the US the Apple TV in order to rent some movies. Apple does not let me to that here in the US as I have a Swiss Apple-ID. This sounds to me like middle aged - sorry - but this is very disappointing. Is anybody out there who knows how to make that working? Thanks

You can change the region of your Apple ID and payment method (frequently), with the added downside that purchases from the previous region may become (temporarily) inaccessible.

Or you can lead a double life with two Apple IDs, again with separate local payment methods. Purchases on one Apple ID can never be transferred to another.
